Our Promise To Guests And Staff

At RMRT, we have been successfully dealing with a dynamic work environment in the outdoors for decades. Our success with hazard and accident mitigation stems for experienced staff and high standards for guest safety and employee training. Given our setting within a global destination we are still fortunate to work within a secure, isolated piece of wilderness inside the Banff National Park. We have always worked closely with Parks Canada, Town of Banff and now are following the evolving guidelines put forth from our Canadian government too. In these challenging times we are setting the highest standards to provide you with a relaxing escape into our beautiful backyard.

Our COVID-19 Safety Policies

Before you arrive:
It is of utmost importance for the safety of all guest and staff that you only visit RMRT if you and your household/traveling group have been adhering carefully to social distancing guidelines and are certain that you have no COVID-19 symptoms. Additionally, if you have been in contact with anyone showing symptoms of, or who has tested positive for COVID-19 in the last 14 days, we ask that you stay home and come to visit us later in the season.

When you arrive:
When arriving at our kiosk area, please wait on the social distancing markers until you are asked to approach the kiosk by a member of staff.

ONE member of your group may check in for everyone at the Kiosk to pay, sign waivers and receive further boarding protocol. It is at this point that you will need to show your booking confirmation if booked online. Please follow the distancing guidelines and signage to avoid contact with other groups.

Whilst waiting for your trip to leave we ask you to prepare your face covering. We are asking all guests to have their own face coverings which will be required to be used at any time when within 2 m of others not in their household and MUST be worn on our return bus shuttle . You can bring a mask, scarf or Buff that fully covers your face and nose.

When we are ready to get your group set up to raft a staff member will guide you to our preparation area. Every member of your group will sanitize their hands, be directed to the right life jacket to put on and proceed to your raft for your guide introduction and safety briefing.

It is especially important to follow all staff directions and stay within your own household and not roam freely around the site. PLEASE KEEP CHILDREN BY YOUR SIDE AT ALL TIMES.

On the raft:
Our rafts have been modified for social distancing so that your group will have their own private end of the boat, with your guide in the middle and possibly another group on the other end. It is important to follow your guides directions to move through the boat and be seated where directed carefully. If seated within 2 m of your guide you will be asked to wear your face covering.

Now you will be able to sit back, relax and enjoy your beautiful float down our beautifully wild Bow River. Forget about the COVID-19 for an hour and connect with nature.

At the landing site your group will be directed to depart the boat and head to the Bus shuttle transition area. Your life jacket will be collected, and you will sanitize your hands, adorn your face mask and board the return shuttle back to your vehicle.

All our equipment, rafts and vehicles are sanitized multiple times per day. Our life jackets are quarantined and sterilized for 48hrs after each use. Our staff are kept up to date and held to the highest standard of personal hygiene to avoid the current risk of COVID-19. We are continually evolving safe protocol and are focused to give our guests the best possible experience while still be able to enjoy our beautiful experience here in Banff.
